On Site Datacenter Technician

What You Will Do

1. Install, maintain, and decommission network server and other IT infrastructure and peripheral equipment, as well as power bars and patch cabling typically found within racks or cabinets per ClusterPower policies and procedures.
2. Coordinate with onsite escorting of Other Suppliers as required to install, maintain and decommission physical infrastructure relay racks, server cabinets and vendor cabinets, racks, overhead support structures, ladder racks, slide rails, PDU’s, power cables, CAT6, Twinax, Fiber and AC power cabinet.
3. Install, maintain, and decommission of network, server and other IT infrastructure and peripheral equipment, as well as power bars and patch cabling typically found within racks or cabinets and update tickets with all required details
4. Perform continuous monitoring of all systems through use of ClusterPower’s building/site automation systems
5. Follow ClusterPower instructions and procedures regarding access
6. Assist in the resolution of Data Center security problems
7. Support ClusterPower security audits, and provide Incident investigation support
8. Escalate any issue that may result in missing critical resolution SLA requirements
9. Ticket closure on Ticketing platform
10. Perform visual equipment inspection & basic troubleshooting (e.g., power, connectivity, etc.)
11. Install, rack and stack networking and Data Center devices
12. Perform replacement of cable (patch cabling to/from device, within rack)
13. Perform disk hot-swap
14. Facilitate integrated remote access controller
15. Initial configuration (prep device to be accessible by ClusterPower delivery center)
16. Equipment moves within building (single asset and no heavier than 25 kg performed by one engineer)

OUR REQUIREMENTS

• 2-4 Years onsite experience working in a Data Center
• Advanced technical knowledge, in order to address service work orders for Networking, telecom, servers, storage equipment, networking equipment, and UPS maintenance
• Ability to install, rack and stack networking and data center equipment. Equipment lifecycle support, closet access & security, closet cleanliness
• Provide system monitoring, alert notification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (e.g. reporting), with the ability to run workshops for information collation
• Manage, liaise and escort with third party suppliers as required.
• Works on projects of moderately medium-complex scope, and able to work with intercompany teams
• Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures
• Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations
• Data center and application architecture support
• Ability to plan, implement, and monitor computer and printer/scanner networks (e.g. file server
• Troubleshoot basic network issues and understands the administering of switches, routers, and firewalls
